Many people think that the best way to get through the day is to wake up early in the morning and do 50 push-ups, run 5 miles, work 8+ hours, and run around doing other things until 10 pm before going to bed. Talk about exhausting. Even if you don’t do all these things, most of us don’t take time for simple self-care.

When to Use Mindfulness or Meditation

Mindfulness or meditation have become part of my daily routine. Before I get out of bed, I use this to start my day.  When I am stressed or nervous about anything, I try to take time away from my busy life. I’m not talking about taking a nap. Taking time, say about 5-10 minutes out of the day, helps avoid distractions, relieve stress, and relax.

Body Position

There are several ways to do this. You can begin by laying flat on your back, sitting on the floor, sitting in a chair, or sitting in your car. Pretty much anywhere you are, you can be mindful and meditate.

App to Use

You can find several free apps for your phone. The one I have on my phone is Insight Timer.
